Your Role

As the Big River Group Branch Manager – Breakwater, you will take full ownership of the commercial, operational, and people performance of our Breakwater frame and truss manufacturing site. Reporting to the Regional Manager VIC, you will lead a multidisciplinary team across sales, estimating, manufacturing, yard, dispatch, logistics, and administration to deliver profitable growth, a strong customer experience, and a high-performing safety culture.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and day-to-day engagement with employees, customers, suppliers, and site operations.

You will:

  • Drive branch revenue, margin, and market share growth through disciplined sales planning and execution
  • Lead, coach, and develop the sales, operations, and manufacturing teams to achieve KPIs and deliver exceptional service
  • Oversee daily branch operations across manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, inventory, and dispatch to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost control
  • Analyse performance data, budgets, and forecasts to support informed decision-making and optimise profitability
  • Champion WHS and compliance standards, embedding a strong safety-first culture across all areas of the site
  • Build and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships to strengthen Big River Group’s market position
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practice across the branch
  • Support a positive team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and delivering quality outcomes for customers

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading a sales and operations team, ideally within building products, manufacturing, frame and truss, or construction
  • Proven success in P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and KPI delivery
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial, operational, and sales data
  • Exceptional leadership and coaching skills, with a focus on accountability, team engagement, and culture
  • Sound understanding of manufacturing operations, logistics, inventory, and customer service
  • Proficiency with ERP and CRM systems
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • A genuine commitment to safety, customer service, and continuous improvement
