The Role
We are looking for a motivated Junior to Mid-level Quality Assurance Tester who is eager to build their career within a high-growth engineering team. Reporting directly to our QA Automation Lead, you’ll play a hands-on role working alongside Developers and Product Owners to ensure our e-commerce platforms meet the high standards of our customers.
This role involves significant hands-on manual testing as part of day-to-day delivery, with the core of your work reviewing user stories and bugs and writing and executing test cases across browsers and devices. While the role primarily involves manual functional testing, we foster an Automation Aware culture. You will use technical tools to validate data and APIs, with the longer term goal of contributing to our automated test frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Manual & Functional Testing
- Execute comprehensive manual testing of new features, enhancements, and defects to ensure alignment with acceptance criteria and UI/UX expectations.
- Conduct cross browser and cross device validation to ensure consistent behaviour across major environments.
API & Data Verification
- Validate back end responses, integrations, and workflows using tools such as Postman.
- Use SQL queries to verify data integrity, ensuring database changes and transactional flows are correct and reliable.
Defect Identification & Management
- Log, track, and manage defects in Jira, providing clear, concise, and actionable details.
- Collaborate with developers and Product Owners to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Release Governance & Quality Reporting
- Support the QA Lead by providing test evidence including coverage summaries, execution results, and defect reports for SDLC release gates.
- Participate in release readiness discussions to ensure quality considerations are represented.
Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration
- Contribute to retrospective discussions, providing insights to strengthen quality practices and engineering workflows.
- Maintain and refine test documentation and test cases to support ongoing product evolution.
- Engage in “cooldown” activities including process refinement, tooling exploration, and knowledge sharing
Qualifications:
-
Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in manual software testing, preferably within an e-commerce or web-based environment.
-
Technical Literacy: Familiarity with Postman for API testing and SQL for basic database verification.
-
Process Knowledge: A clear understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and defect management workflows.
-
Tooling: Proficiency with Atlassian tools, specifically Jira and Confluence, for task tracking and documentation. Experience with AI-assisted testing tools highly desirable.
-
Communication: Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
-
Growth Mindset: An interest in developing skills in test automation and AI-assisted testing tools over time.
