As a Data Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of building the infrastructure that powers our insights, fuels our innovation, and drives meaningful outcomes for the people who use our services

You’ll design and maintain robust data pipelines that collect, clean, and organise information from diverse sources including clinical data, user interactions, people data and more. Whilst the main focus of the role is data engineering, you’ll also be able to contribute to the development of top class analytics and data visualisation, enabling our teams to uncover patterns, deliver the best care, and measure impact with precision and empathy

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a purpose-driven environment, where every dataset has the potential to improve someone’s quality of life. You’ll collaborate closely with clinicians, operational and product teams to ensure our data ecosystem is secure, scalable, and aligned with our values of transparency and trust.

😎What You’ll Be Doing:

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering

  • Specialist knowledge of information management techniques, including data collection, validation, database management, and reporting
  • Experience of working with and manipulating large relational datasets
  • Integrate data from multiple sources including mobile apps, portals, backend systems, and external APIs
  • Knowledge and experience of data warehousing technology and ETL / ELT process

Data Modelling and Warehousing

  • Design and optimise data models to support reporting and analytics
  • Maintain and enhance our data warehouse
  • Ensure proper metadata, lineage, and governance practices are implemented and followed

Analytical Insight

  • Collaborate with the Head of Data analytical insights
  • Support Tableau and other reporting environments
  • Assist in translating clinical and operational requirements into technical reporting solutions

Compliance

  • Ensure data practices comply with UK GDPR, NHS DSPT and other regulations as applicable
  • Apply best practices for encryption, anonymisation, and secure data handling
  • Proactively monitor for data quality, security, and compliance issues

🚀To thrive in this role you’ll need:

  • Relevant experience as a Data Engineer
  • Expertise in AWS data products (Redshift, Glue, Athena, S3, Lambda,Kinesis)
  • SQL skills and experience in ETL/ELT design
  • Familiarity with data modelling, data warehousing, and pipeline automation
  • Exposure to Tableau or other BI tools
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working with healthcare datasets or regulated industries
  • Python or Spark for data transformations
  • Knowledge of streaming data pipelines and real-time analytics
  • Familiarity with AI/ML data preparation workflows
