About the role:

We are currently seeking casual Support Workers to join our team at BEST Community Connections in Inverell.

As a Support Worker, you will be committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities, while focusing on advocating for participant independence and choice through the facilitation of personalised supports, community engagement activities and fostering skill development.

You will work with a range of participants with varying abilities to:

  • provide direct support and assistance with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene
  • assist with community engagement and participation in social activities
  • support them in achieving their personal goals
  • assist in both group settings and 1:1 support arrangements
  • provide in-home support, including in Supported Independent Living (SIL) scenarios
  • maintain accurate documentation
  • We are looking for candidates with a preference for overnight, weekend, and shift work, although we will also consider day shift availability for the right candidates. Please indicate in your application your work or shift type preferences.

About you:

You will be a dedicated and compassionate individual, with:

  • A resilient nature and participant focus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as work collaboratively within a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate information clearly and effectively, adapting communication style as needed.
  • Previous experience in disability work or related field is desired.
  • Relevant qualifications in Disability Support, Individual Support or similar.
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • First Aid & CPR Certificates (or willingness to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker’s Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
