Behaviour Support Practitioner – Core, Proficient, Advance or Specialist – Expression of Interest

Being Mentors is a registered NDIS Provider providing support work and Positive Behaviour Support services.The company operates in the greater South East Queensland, Far North Queensland, Northern Territory, New South Wales (NNSW & Newcastle), South Australia (Adelaide), and Victoria (Melbourne) regions.

The Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner supports participants and their families and/or carers by adopting a person-centred approach in assessing participants needs and implementing effective strategies to reach their goals and reduce behaviours of concern, whilst adhering to all necessary governance of the NDIS.

Being Mentors are looking for an expression of interest for all levels of Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners. The key duties of the PBS Practitioner (depending on level) include, but are not limited to:

• Providing a holistic and evidence-based approach to PBS, grounded in The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework (‘the Framework’)
• Handling a caseload and working within specified timeframes.
• Undertaking thorough functional behavioural assessments.
• Developing detailed PBS plans and interim support plans.
• Implementing strategies that effectively reduce the frequency and duration of behaviours of concern, and that prevent the need to use restrictive practices.
• Adhering to The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
• Liaising and collaborating with allied health professionals and participant’s families and/or carers to address individual participant needs to achieve their goals.
• Monitoring and reporting on participant progress towards NDIS goals and therapeutic impacts of behaviour strategies.
• Having a commitment to continual learning and contributing to the culture of the company by upholding the company’s values and mission.
