About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and motivated Float Legal Assistant to join our dynamic Float Team led by a highly regarded Office Manager.

About the team

Our Float Legal Assistants provide support across the firm to both lawyers and legal assistants in a variety of practice areas.  As part of the Float Team, you will be allocated to different groups to assist during busy periods, cover staff absences and provide general administrative support across the business.  

This is a full-time permanent position, primarily based in our office with flexibility available. You’ll be part of a collaborative, friendly and supportive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to requests received through the Float Team inbox
  • Prepare documents and correspondence        
  • Edit and amend documents, including track changes and mark ups 
  • Proofread documents to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Printing, scanning and copying  
  • Open and close files     
  • Process offsite storage and retrieval requests, including records destruction

File administration & archiving   

  • Digital dictation 
  • Inputting and maintaining client data into our CRM software (Aderant Expert)
  • Assist with monthly billing processes
  • Providing reception cover when required.

Our ideal candidate possesses:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar legal assistant or administrative role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong spelling and grammar
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • A flexible, friendly and approachable attitude Professional presentation
  • A positive and enthusiastic outlook
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
  • The ability to work to deadlines and stay calm under pressure
  • Resilient and resourceful
