Barkuma is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented People & Culture Administration Officer to join our Corporate Team and play a key role in delivering high-quality administrative support and exceptional service across the organisation.

About The Role:
The People & Culture Administration Officer provides comprehensive administrative support to the P&C Manager and team while delivering responsive, high-quality service to departments across the organisation for all P&C-related enquiries and requests. This key role is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, including training, vaccinations and NDIS compliance requirements, and supporting hiring managers with timely, professional customer service.
This role requires providing assistance and support to vulnerable individuals, making a meaningful impact on their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality administrative support to the People & Culture team, ensuring efficient and compliant HR operations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, regularly auditing HR systems to ensure data integrity and compliance (including training, vaccinations and NDIS requirements).
- Coordinate and track induction programs for new and supported employees, ensuring completion of required documentation, training and system access.
- Monitor training, certifications and policy acknowledgements, proactively following up to ensure workforce compliance.
- Generate reports and provide workforce data insights to support compliance monitoring and workforce planning.
- Provide end-to-end recruitment administration support, including interview coordination, employment documentation and reference checks.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring timely documentation, system updates and compliance checks.
- Contribute to People & Culture projects and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organisational priorities.
You will bring:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- HR administration experience
- Experience with HRIS (e.g Employment Hero)
- Proficient computer skills – Microsoft office, word, excel and outlook
- Attention to detail is essential and ability to keep sensitive information confidential
- Confidence to learn and apply knowledge/skills
- Understanding and experience of the NDIS, or a willingness to learn
Qualifications, Certification:
- Certificate III Business Administration/ Human Resources (desirable)
Special Conditions:
- Work rights for Australia
- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of mandatory training – NDIS Quality and Safeguards Worker Orientation Module and Infection control – Covid-19 (or willingness to complete)
- Current Australian Driver’s License (restricted P2 license and above)
