The Opportunity
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to support the finance team with day-to-day accounting operations and financial accuracy across the business.
This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is looking to deepen their technical finance skills within a fast-paced eCommerce environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in reconciliations, accounts payable management, and month-end support while helping maintain the integrity of BABYBOO’s financial data as the business continues to scale.
You will
- Perform regular bank and payment gateway reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy across systems
- Reconcile Shopify sales data with accounting platforms and investigate any discrepancies
- Manage supplier account reconciliations and resolve payment or transaction issues
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Coordinate accounts payable processes, including payment scheduling and payment runs
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and respond to supplier queries professionally
- Support month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Assist the finance team in maintaining accurate financial data and improving reporting processes
You are
- Previous accounting experience, ideally in a high-volume transaction environment
- Experience working within eCommerce or retail businesses is highly advantageous
- Detailed reconciliation skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies
- Advanced Excel capability, including pivot tables, lookup formulas and large dataset handling
- Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Shopify integrations or similar platforms
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Experience with expense platforms or approval workflow systems is beneficial
- Currently studying or planning to pursue CPA or CA
