Airborne Sensor Operator

Working Arrangements: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster
About the Role
We are seeking highly motivated and technically capable individuals to join our growing airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) team as Airborne Sensor Operators.
In this role, you will be part of a professional flight crew operating advanced sensor payloads and mission systems to deliver real-time intelligence products to government and emergency-service clients. This is a dynamic position requiring technical proficiency, strong situational awareness, and the ability to perform in high-tempo operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) multispectral sensor systems during live airborne missions.
- Operate advanced mission management software in support of airborne operations.
- Capture, tag, and manage mission data, including imagery and GIS layers.
- Liaise with pilots, mission managers, and ground crews to deliver timely intelligence products.
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight system checks, data transfer, and reporting.
Required
- Previous experience in airborne ISR operations (rotary-wing or fixed-wing).
- Proficiency with Mission Management Software (e.g. CarteNav AIMS-ISR or Shotover ARS).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
- High level of situational awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel and deploy to regional/remote areas at short notice.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency (essential for security clearance).
Desirable
- Experience with Wescam MX-series EO/IR sensor systems.
- Experience with CarteNav AIMS-ISR mission management software.
- Background in aviation, defence, emergency services, or law enforcement.
- GIS, remote sensing, or geospatial imagery qualifications.
- Existing Baseline security clearance.
