Talent and Workforce Coordinator

Balcatta, Western Australia 6021, Australia • Part-time

Description

Associated Veterinary Group (AVG) is a privately owned network of veterinary hospitals across Western Australia. Over the past 2 years, we’ve grown to nine clinics and will continue to expand in a considered and community-focused way.

We operate in a workforce-short environment where demand for veterinarians and qualified veterinary nurses exceeds supply. Building and maintaining talent pipelines is central to our mission to support local communities by delivering quality veterinary care for our customers and their beloved pets.

Due to our continued growth, we have created a stand-alone part-time Talent & Workforce Coordinator to support recruitment, workforce planning and locum coordination across our clinics.

About the Role

This role supports the full employee lifecycle from sourcing and selection through to onboarding and offboarding (including exit surveys or interviews to inform workforce planning and retention).

Guiding and supporting the Practice Managers and leadership group on the best strategy to meet their recruitment needs, including:

  • Drafting and posting job adverts
  • Sourcing and screening candidates
  • Coordinating interviews and managing candidate communication
  • Prepare contracts and onboarding documentation
  • Support credentialing, compliance and documentation

The role will also involve managing our locum pool across multiple clinics, ensuring our locums feel supported and remain engaged in supporting our business.

About You

  • Experience recruiting veterinarians, nurses, doctors, dentists or other clinical professionals is preferred
  • Experience collecting workforce insights (for example, through exit interviews, surveys or onboarding feedback) is beneficial but not essential
  • Understands workforce shortages and proactive sourcing strategies
  • Professional communication with clinicians, candidates and managers
  • Organised, responsive and comfortable with multiple hiring streams
  • Capable of building and maintaining warm talent pools, not just applicants
  • Strong follow-through and documentation discipline
  • Enjoys problem-solving and supporting others to succeed

AVG is an endorsed sponsor and actively recruits veterinarians internationally. Experience engaging global talent pipelines or working with visa-sponsored clinicians is highly valued.

Working Style

This role is hybrid, requiring a balance of working from home, office, and clinic visits for onboarding and contextualisation for the roles being recruited.

We care about outcomes, responsiveness and professionalism.

Why join AVG

  • Privately owned, WA-based
  • Flexible part-time hours (15 – 20 hrs/week)
  • Meaningful impact on workforce outcomes in an industry that has a profound impact on both people and their pets.
  • Supportive, practical and down-to-earth culture
  • Ability to influence workforce planning and talent strategy
  • Being a smaller, privately owned business, you’ll get nimble decision-making without the politics

One of the perks of working in the veterinary industry is the occasional opportunity for puppy and kitten cuddles, as well as the rewarding experience of supporting the clinicians who care for them.

How to Apply

Apply with your CV and a short cover letter outlining your experience and what appeals to you about the role.
