  • Annual gross salary range bet. PGK 36,483 to PGK 52,698 commensurate to experience

Exciting opportunity to join AVI’s PNG Team! We’re currently looking for Administration and Finance Officer for our Papua New Guinea office.

AVI supports the implementation of the Australian Volunteers Program on behalf of the Australian Government. The Australian Volunteers Program supports skilled Australian volunteers to work alongside organisations to sustainably support capacity development of people, organisations and communities in various countries across the Pacific, Asia and Africa.

The Administration and Finance Officer is responsible for providing quality administrative management for the Australian Volunteers Program in PNG, including management of financial processes, and program support services.

Position Requirements:

  • Post-secondary qualifications and/or experience in financial administration and office management
  • Strong administrative skills including experience with databases, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Excellent financial literacy, and proven ability to undertake accurate and timely financial processes and reporting
  • Demonstrated understanding of government administration, processes and bureaucracy
  • Strong analytical skills in identifying process and workflow improvements
  • Strong computer and software literacy skills – experience with Excel, Netsuite (or similar systems) advantageous
  • Cross-cultural awareness, including an ability to work with stakeholders from varied cultural backgrounds
  • Sound knowledge of, and commitment to the underpinning values, goals and objectives of the Australian Volunteers Program
