About the Role
This fulltime or part time contracting role will suit an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated business development professional wanting to join a team driven by passion, purpose and making a difference.
The successful candidate will be an experienced specialist within business development and key account functions. They will be able to demonstrate an ability to create new business as well as maintaining existing networks and nurturing existing client relationships and developing them to achieve positive client outcomes, both internally and externally.
Based in our Brisbane head office or Melbourne office, you will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Marketing and Communications Manager, and Program Managers to play a crucial role within the team.
You will have demonstrated knowledge and experience across at least one of the following sectors:
- Major infrastructure design and construction (e.g., road, rail, port)
- Infrastructure maintenance (e.g., water, electrical networks)
- Land and environmental management (e.g., federal, state and local government departments)
- Natural resources (e.g., agriculture, mining)
Key Accountabilities
You will be responsible for key account and business development functions, including but not limited to:

Client Relationship Management: Creating, building and maintaining strong client relationships, both new and existing

Strategic Account Planning: Develop detailed account plans outlining goals, revenue targets, risks, and growth opportunities

Contract and Tender Management: Coordinating and working alongside our Marketing and Communications Manager and CEO with contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions, as well as preparing and submitting tender responses—technical, commercial, and compliance sections

Sales and Revenue Growth: Identify upsell and cross sell opportunities as well as be able to report on revenue, margin, and pipeline performance for each key account sell opportunities as well as sell opportunities

Operational Coordination: Work closely with internal stakeholders

Risk and Compliance Management: Monitor contract risks

Customer Experience and Value Delivery: Identify opportunities to improve reliability, improve efficiency, or enhance operational efficiency for the client
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or direct equivalent experience in the business development sector

5 years‘ strategic account management experience in a related industry and established relationships, as well as commercial understanding of a social enterprise
- Ability to analyse and ascertain ASA’s position in the market, and develop effective business development strategies
- Ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders (internal and external to the business) effectively and build strong and effective relationships
- A team player with well-developed interpersonal skills capable of working within a multi-disciplinary team, but also able to work autonomously when required
- Values aligned with workforce participation and social procurement
- A current ABN
