Strategic Initiatives Coordinator

GTM – Strategic Initiatives • Melbourne, Victoria 3000, Australia • Full-time

Description

About Us

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is Australia’s leading professional association for the technology community, representing over 40,000 members across industry, government, and education. Established more than 50 years ago, ACS is a member-led not-for-profit organisation committed to advancing Australia’s technology sector. Our mission is to power Australia’s technological brilliance, supporting the delivery of government services, enhancing education, and driving innovation and productivity across businesses.

About The Role

Step into a high-impact role at the centre of Australia’s tech leadership conversations. As Strategic Initiatives Coordinator, you’ll partner directly with ACS executives and senior industry leaders to keep our advisory boards operating at the highest standard, focusing primarily on our technical advisory boards while supporting Technology Advisory, Member Advisory, and Professional Boards.

You will take full ownership of board operations, managing end-to-end processes to ensure all interactions, documentation, and outputs are delivered accurately, consistently, and on time, supporting informed decision-making.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy working with senior stakeholders, and take pride in delivering work that is polished, accurate, and on time – this role is for you.

This role is initially fixed term for 12 months, with the opportunity to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end board coordination — from scheduling and agendas through to minutes and post-meeting follow-ups
  • Produce and manage high-quality board documentation with absolute accuracy and attention to detail
  • Administer board systems (including Diligent Boards), ensuring seamless access and efficient workflows
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders to deliver timely, high-quality inputs
  • Maintain and uphold governance processes, ensuring consistency and compliance across all boards
  • Identify and implement smarter ways of working to improve efficiency and effectiveness

About You

You are an experienced, highly organised, confident and professional coordinator who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. You’re comfortable working with senior leaders and know how to influence, follow up, and deliver.

You bring structure to complexity, stay calm under pressure, and take ownership of outcomes. Your attention to detail is exceptional, your communication is clear and polished, and you take pride in producing work of the highest standard.

You also have a genuine interest in technology and the role it plays in shaping industries and communities. While you don’t need formal qualifications in the field, you’re naturally curious, engaged, and comfortable working in a tech-focused environment.

You’re proactive, solutions-focused, and continuously looking for ways to improve how things are done.
