We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and professional Claims Specialist to work between our North Sydney office and home on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will provide a professional claims handling service to clients by providing solutions, achieving the best possible cost outcomes, and enhancing the client/broker/insurer relationships. The workload is constant and the ability to work accurately and autonomously whilst under pressure is a prerequisite of this position.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Interpretation of policy coverage and assess indemnity
  • Manage an end-to-end portfolio of General Insurance claims including Property (including but not limited to Engineering, Contract Works, Motor Dealers), Liability and Personal Injury claims within a delegated level of authority.
  • Manage enquiries from a variety of internal and external parties and provide appropriate and timely responses to correspondence, issues and claim outcomes
  • Investigating and negotiating on Claims and collaborate with Insurers and Legal Representatives on complex issues
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with a range of clients, service providers and other insurance professionals.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in General Insurance including Property (including but not limited to Engineering, Contract Works, Motor Dealers), Liability and Personal Injury claims is essential for this position.
  • Understanding of claims management requirements involving Local and Lloyd’s cover holders
  • Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of relevant insurance legislation and regulations and of current requirements and practices relating to government organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of customer experience and advanced skill in building rapport, understanding stakeholder requirements and resolving concerns.
  • Strong capability to communicate clearly, concisely and appropriately both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to assess and comment on the recommendations of insurers and lawyers will be crucial.

This is a busy role; however, the team culture is fantastic, and you will have the support of the team to ensure you are meeting agreed service level agreements, and are successful.
