Scope of work:
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated kitchen hand to join our team on a permanent, full-time Fly-in-Fly-out basis. You will be a qualified chef or hold a cert III in commercial cookery as there will be occasions when you will be required to run the service, along with:
- Maintaining quality and hygiene to food safe standards.
- Following systems set in place to maintain continuous improvement of the restaurant.
- Using cleaning products in a safe manner as outlined in the SDS – maintaining kitchen hygiene.
- Ensuring stock is restocked, labelled, rotated, and used to minimise food wastage.
- Cleaning pots and dishwashing to maintain availability of all items.
- Preparing food to chef’s instructions.
- Peeling and cutting vegetables, preparing grab and go.
- Work as team with the chef on duty.
Requirements:
- Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery.
- 2 years chef or bulk cooking experience.
- High-volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience
- Experience in a mining village operation preferred.
- Strong food safety and HACCP knowledge.
- Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Able to work a flexible FIFO roster.
- Police Clearance or willing to obtain one.
- Medically fit to pass Pre-employment medical.
