We are looking for an experienced accountant to join the team as we grow.
About the Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Accountant takes ownership of a broad and varied portfolio spanning financial accounting, payroll, compliance, and systems. This is a hands‑on role that plays a key part in supporting accurate reporting, sound decision‑making, and strong financial controls across the business, while also contributing to continuous improvement of processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial accounting, reconciliations, month-end close and management reporting
- Preparation of BAS, FBT, PAYG, payroll tax and related lodgements
- Maintain fixed asset registers and support budgeting, forecasting, annual audits, and insurance reviews.
- ERP system integrity, master data governance, provide user support, contribute to system enhancements, upgrades and continuous process improvements.
- Supporting audits, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reviews
- Managing complex and non-standard financial transactions across multiple entities
- Deliver end‑to‑end payroll processing across multiple entities, ensuring compliance with Modern Awards and legislation
- Responsible for end-to-end payroll processing responsibilities initially, with a planned transition to oversight and leadership as the Finance team grows
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years’ experience as an Accountant or similar role.
- 3+ years’ payroll experience
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or similar (CA/CPA desirable or willing to pursue)
- Strong understanding of accounting standards, payroll legislation and Modern Awards
- Experience with BAS, FBT, superannuation and payroll tax
- Excellent reconciliation, reporting and analytical skills
- Experience with ERP systems (e. NetSuite) and Payroll systems (eg. Employment Hero)
- High attention to detail, strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach
