About the Role

You’ll support young people with complex behaviours including aggression, trauma responses, ADHD, and anxiety. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day care and emotional support
  • Implementing consistent routines and boundaries
  • Supporting school attendance and transporting young people in your own vehicle
  • Following safety and care plans
  • Completing shift notes and incident reports
  • Managing escalations calmly with proven de-escalation techniques
  • Ensure the home environment remains safe, clean, and supportive—maintaining hygiene standards and proactively addressing safety risks

Shifts range from early mornings 6am to 2pm, short shifts (approx. 4 hours) and 2pm to 10pm with a sleepovers. Flexibility is essential.

What We’re Looking For

We need experienced Female Youth Workers who are reliable, calm under pressure, and understand the responsibility of professional boundaries.

You’ll bring:

  • A trauma-informed approach
  • Strong mentoring and listening skills
  • Sound judgment in challenging situations
  • Experience in Child Safety and residential care settings
  • The ability to manage physically and emotionally demanding work

Key Requirements

Mandatory: Experience with complex and challenging behaviours

  • Strong written skills and computer literacy
  • Capacity to meet physical and emotional demands
  • QLD Driver’s License + own insured, registered vehicle
  • Current QLD Blue Card
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care), Certificate IV in Youth Work (or higher/equivalent)
  • MAYBO, TCI, or Hope and Healing training (highly regarded)
