About the position

As our Project Estimator, you will assist with the detailed pricing of new projects. This position reports to the Cost Planning Manager and boasts a Monday to Friday roster.

Successful candidates’ key responsibilities:

• Develop and identify the scope of the work to be priced from studying building plans.
• Send information to suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain fixed price quotations to develop the final quotation figure.
• Generate quotations, issue to clients and following up.
• Attend site visits for inspections to meet with clients, attend tender meetings, coordinate with Project Management staff, and assist with the pricing of variations on existing contracts.
• Reading drawings and specifications to develop project estimations.
• Completing take-offs to compile quantities.
• Some general miscellaneous tasks may include assistance with the WHS and Quality systems of the business.

Successful candidates will have:

• Tertiary training in either Project Cost Estimating, Project Management, Construction Management, Building or Engineering or similar construction or building design background is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate project details clearly and professionally
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Estimating experience within a similar industry highly regarded
• A thorough understanding of construction processes for commercial projects will be highly regarded
• Experience with Structural Steel is essential.
• A willingness to learn and fantastic attitude.

• Organised and efficient
