About the Role
The Assistant Accountant plays a critical role in the financial and management accounting function supporting the Finance team. You will have responsibility for reconciling and maintaining the general ledger accounts, bank accounts and CDF payment products on a daily and monthly basis. Further the Assistant Accountant will support the Finance team with month-end processes and monthly
reporting.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist with the completion of accounting month end processes.
- Assist with daily and monthly general ledger reconciliations and Greentree file extracts.
- Ensure Accounts Records Management is systematic, up to date and complete to meet accounting audit requirements.
- Support the finance team with automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide back up support for accounts payable and accounts receivable, corporate expense management and other adhoc processing.
What You Bring
Essential
- Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Accounting.
- Previous experience in Financial administration, and accounting software knowledge (Greentree).
- Well-developed reconciliation, analytical and processing skills.
- Good communication and team player.
Highly Desirable
- High level of integrity, honesty and confidentiality, with an awareness and appreciation of Catholic Social Teachings.
- A demonstrated understanding of the importance of confidentiality of organisational information.
- High level of attention to detail, quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
