Second in Charge (2IC) – Amana OSHC

Are you an experienced OSHC educator ready to step into a leadership role and grow your career?

Amana OSHC is expanding across Victoria, and we’re building a strong pipeline of talented Second in Charge (2IC) leaders to support our new services launching in 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to register your interest for permanent and contract 2IC positions across Before School Care, After School Care and Holiday Program services.

About the Role

As an Amana OSHC Second in Charge (2IC), you will work closely with the Centre Director to support the daily operations of the service. You’ll play a key leadership role in ensuring high standards of care, compliance and programming, while also stepping into the Director role when required.

You will:

  • Support the Centre Director in leading and mentoring a team of educators
  • Deliver fun, meaningful and child-centred programs, including:
    • Imagination Station (STEM + Creative Arts)
    • Homework Heroes (academic support)
    • Little Champions (sport & physical literacy)
    • Iqra Circle (Qur’an reading and reflection – where agreed with schools)
  • Assist with program planning, documentation and quality improvement
  • Build positive relationships with families, school leaders and the wider community
  • Help maintain safe, inclusive and engaging environments for children
  • Support compliance, documentation and administrative processes
  • Assist with rostering, staffing coordination and team development
  • Step into leadership responsibilities in the Director’s absence
  • Hours typically include:

    • 7:00am – 9:00am & 2:15pm – 6:30pm, plus paid administration hours.
    • Monday to Friday only — no weekend work.

    Typical Responsibilities

    • Daily service leadership and educator supervision
    • Program planning, documentation and child engagement
    • Daily compliance checks, risk management and quality practice
    • Attendance and family communication management
    • Rosters, staffing support and training oversight
    • Maintaining strong school relationships and representing Amana OSHC professionally

    About You

    We would love to connect with you if you are passionate about children’s wellbeing and ready to lead a thriving OSHC service.

    You will ideally have:

    • A Diploma qualification or higher (or be actively working towards an ACECQA-approved qualification)
    • Previous OSHC or childcare experience
    • Demonstrated leadership capability, confidence managing teams, or a strong desire to step into a leadership role
    • Strong communication skills and a commitment to building community connections

    You will also need a current or willingness to obtain:

    • Employee Working With Children Check (VIC)
    • HLTAID012 – First Aid in a Childcare Setting
    • CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates
    • Mandatory Reporting (Child Safe Standards)
    • National Police Check (within the past 6 months)
