Allied Credit is a leading vehicle finance firm with strategic alliances with global car, marine and motorcycle brands. We are seeking a Tax Analyst to support with Allied Credit’s tax automation, compliance and process improvement initiatives, while developing technical foundations in Australian taxation. A key focus of this role is assisting with the automation of data analysis, leveraging advanced Excel skills and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy and risk management.
What you will be doing
- Assisting in building and improving Excel based models used for tax calculations, consolidations, reconciliations and reporting.
- Supporting the automation of tax processes, including GST, corporate tax and month end tax activities.
- Helping to reduce manual work and spreadsheet risk through structured templates, controls and documentation.
- Learning and applying Power Query, data transformations and automation techniques within Excel and assisting with the introduction of AI usage.
- Assisting with the preparation of GST, corporate tax, fringe benefits tax and other tax filings.
- Supporting the preparation of monthly and year end tax calculations, consolidations, reconciliations and tax workpapers.
- Assisting with responses to ATO queries, audits and reviews.
- Helping prepare basic dashboards, reports or summaries for internal tax reporting.
- Working closely with Finance, FP&A, Treasury and other teams to understand transactions impacting tax.
Your background
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Accounting, Commerce, Finance or another related discipline.
- Internship, graduate or early career experience in data analytics, accounting, tax or finance.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with a desire to develop further capabilities and the curiosity and willingness to learn AI enabled tools and new technologies.
- Interest in automation, data analysis and process improvements, ideally, with exposure to Power Query, Power BI or similar tools.
- High level of attention to detail with strong numerical skills, a curious and analytical mindset and an eagerness to learn.
- Proactive and systemic mentality with an interest in automating and improving how things are done.
- Strong organisation and time management skills with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Clear communicator who works well in a team environment.
