A hands-on HSE role, right where the work is happening
Alium Works is looking for an HSE Coordinator to support safety on high-risk project sites across energy, infrastructure and data centre projects. This is a site-based role working alongside project teams and subcontractors in fast-paced environments.
About the role
You’ll support day-to-day HSE activities on site, helping keep safety systems running and documentation up to date. The role involves site inspections, safety paperwork, follow-ups from incidents and ongoing engagement with crews. You’ll work closely with the Senior HSE Advisor and be part of the site team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step up from an HSE Administrator role.
To meet current project needs, you’ll be based between Derrimut and Truganina sites, with travel required between locations and occasionally interstate.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting site safety systems and documentation
- Carrying out site inspections and supporting risk assessments
- Reviewing SWMS and JSEAs
- Assisting with incident investigations and tracking actions
- Supporting toolbox talks, pre-starts and safety meetings
- Preparing safety reports and maintaining records
About you
You’re comfortable on site, organised, and able to manage the paperwork alongside what’s happening on the ground. You work well with a range of people – project teams, subbies, contractors – and understand how safety operates in live project environments where things move quickly.
What you’ll need
- At least 2 years’ experience in a site-based HSE coordination or administration role
- Experience on construction, infrastructure, energy or rail projects
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent)
- Construction White Card
- Solid computer skills—you’ll be working across Word, multiple safety systems and digital platforms
- Ability to manage a high volume of documentation and keep it accurate
- Willingness to travel between sites and interstate when required
- Willingness to undergo a medical if required
- ICAM qualification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
What We Offer
- The chance to work on high-impact, future-focused projects alongside industry leaders.
- Direct employment with Alium Works, with the stability of long-term project deployment.
- Opportunity to undertake further study with Alium Works support.
- Potential to develop toward HSE Advisory roles or Trainer and Assessor positions.
