A hands-on HSE role focused on critical risk, investigations, and follow-through
Due to team growth, Alium Works is looking for an experienced HSE Advisor to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of safety systems across high-profile energy management and data centre projects.
About the role
You’ll lead day-to-day HSE across live project sites, taking ownership of safety systems, critical risk controls, audits and investigations. You’ll work closely with project teams, principal contractors and subcontractors in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
You’ll be based across Sydney sites including Macquarie Park (HQ), Eastern Creek, Kemps Creek and Lane Cove, with travel required between locations and occasional interstate travel.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading site safety systems and ensuring compliance to client and legislative requirements
- Conducting site inspections and audits and supporting practical risk management
- Reviewing SWMS and JSEAs and supporting contractor safety performance
- Leading incident investigations and driving corrective actions through to close-out
- Coaching teams on critical risk controls and safe work behaviours
- Preparing HSE reports and maintaining records across multiple systems
About you
You’re confident on site and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in fast-paced project environments. You’re organised, calm under pressure, and strong on follow-through.
What you’ll need
- 5+ years’ project-based HSE experience in construction, energy, infrastructure, rail, or another high-risk sector
- Diploma of WHS or equivalent industry experience, or willingness to obtain
- Construction White Card
- Investigation training
- Proven experience with audits, inspections, investigations and safety reporting
- Strong stakeholder management skills including principal contractors
- Strong communication, influencing, and conflict de-escalation skills
- Solid computer skills and confidence managing multiple systems and digital platforms
- Willingness to travel between sites and occasionally interstate
