Your Role in Our Mission
We are seeking either a highly skilled and motivated SMSF Manager or Senior Accountant ready to step up. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing SMSFs across a diverse client portfolio. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities and the ability to provide expert advice on SMSF compliance and regulations.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage a large portfolio of SMSFs, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Conduct thorough reviews of SMSF financial statements, tax returns, and audit reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on SMSF strategies, investment options, and retirement planning.
- Present to clients and provide expert insights to clients on superannuation matters.
- Oversee accounting and audit workflows to ensure timely delivery and optimal resource efficiency.
- Contribute to the growth of the firm’s SMSF services through strategic initiatives and business development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver effective SMSF services.
- Assist in the preparation of SMSF documentation, including trust deeds, investment strategies, and member statements.
- Manage, develop and review the work of the offshore team.
- Stay updated on industry trends, legislative changes, and best practices related to SMSFs, and communicate relevant information to clients and colleagues.
- Provide monthly reporting to the Partner group.
What We’re Looking For
We value people who are driven, curious, and committed to excellence. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- SMSF Specialist Advisor, or similar qualification, or aim for attainment (preferred).
- Proven experience in managing SMSFs, preferably across a diverse client portfolio with a structured and methodical approach.
- In-depth knowledge of SMSF legislation, compliance requirements, and reporting obligations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide accurate recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using SMSF software and accounting systems (preferably BGL Simple Fund 360).
- Professional certifications such as CPA or SMSF Specialist Advisor (SSA) will be highly regarded.
