Senior Systems Accountant

About the role:  

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will lead the implementation of enhanced financial reporting from our core banking platform and deliver a robust reconciliation framework across our payments program. 

This is a critical role bridging Finance and Technology in a growing APRA-regulated environment.

What you’ll be doing:  

• Implement automated financial and management reporting from the core banking system 

• Design and implement a reconciliation engine for payments (NPP, Direct Entry, card schemes, SWIFT) 

• Strengthen balance sheet substantiation and GL control 

• Reduce manual reconciliations and spreadsheet risk 

• Partner with IT, Operations and Risk to enhance system controls 

What we’re looking for: 

• CA / CPA qualified 

• 7+ years’ experience in banking, finance or financial services 

• Experience with core banking platforms and reconciliation systems 

• Strong understanding of payments clearing & settlement 

• Experience implementing banking-specific reporting from core systems   

• Strong SQL / data capability highly regarded
