This is a permanent part-time role, three days per week.
A day in the life of a RAES Employment Consultant can include:
- Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments of participant skills, education, vocational interests, job readiness, and personal circumstances
- Co-design individualised job plans and regularly review and update to reflect changes in participant circumstances, community priorities, and labour market opportunities
- Provide culturally appropriate and holistic support to participants
- Assist participants to access allied health, housing, financial, disability, and other wraparound services
- Support participants to engage in training, employment placements, and community projects
- Build strong relationships with local employers
- Work with employers to support culturally safe workplaces that encourage retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees
- Collaborate with community organisations, and other stakeholders to ensure service delivery reflects local priorities and aspirations
- Contribute to the design and delivery of community projects that support workforce participation and skill development
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in case management, employment services, or community development
- Knowledge of the Remote Australia Employment Services (RAES) program
- Strong understanding of referral pathways and the ability to connect participants with allied health, community, and specialist services
- Proven ability to work effectively and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families, and communities, with an understanding of culturally safe service delivery
- High-level organisational, administrative, and data management skills
- Competence in using employment services systems (such as ESS Web or equivalent), with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to IT and reporting requirements

To be considered you must…
- Have full working rights in Australia
- Have a current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
- Complete an Australia History Criminal Check
- Have a current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain a Working with Children Check before employment
- Ability to work part-time, three days per week.
