Situated on Victoria’s iconic Surf Coast, The Sands Torquay is home to a nationally recognised 18-hole championship course, premium practice facilities, and a fast-growing membership base. Our club is entering an exciting new phase of growth, with a strong emphasis on player development, equipment performance, and premium service.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Teaching Professional with strong club fitting expertise to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to combine coaching, retail, and equipment fitting within one of the region’s most dynamic golf environments.

The successful applicant will play a dual role:

• Delivering high-quality coaching and custom fitting services to members and guests.

• Supporting the daily operations of the Golf Shop, including retail sales, competition setup, and customer service.

This role is ideal for a fully qualified PGA Member who is confident in both custom club fitting and player development and is looking to grow within a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Club Fitting & Equipment Sales

• Lead all custom fitting sessions using brand-specific tools and launch monitor technology.

• Deliver a premium, tour-level fitting experience across key equipment categories (woods, irons, wedges, putters).

• Stay current with the latest equipment releases, technology, and fitting methodology.

• Promote and convert fittings into equipment sales, working closely with major suppliers

• Coordinate and support demo days and fitting events on-site.

Coaching

• Conduct individual lessons for players of all abilities.

• Deliver structured coaching programs for juniors, beginners, women, and intermediate players.

• Support and promote long-term player development and game improvement initiatives.

• Maintain detailed lesson and player progress records.

Golf Shop Operations

• Assist with daily retail operations including bookings, check-ins, and stock management.

• Support the running of competitions and events using MiClub software.

• Deliver a professional and welcoming member and guest experience at all times.

• Help maintain retail presentation and contribute to sales targets.

Essential Requirements

• Current PGA of Australia Membership.

• Proven experience in custom club fitting across major equipment brands.

• Strong product knowledge and a passion for golf retail.

• Previous coaching experience across multiple player levels.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Availability to work weekends and peak times.

• Experience with MiClub, TrackMan, GCQuad, or similar systems is advantageous.
