We are seeking juniors to fill this role : that is those aged 14-17, who are high school students who are looking for just a few hours a week. Hours of work are on Saturday and Sunday only, from 12pm – 3pm. Casual basis.
Summary:
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen by washing, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Load, operate and unload the dishwasher properly
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using a dishwasher or by hand.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
- Maintain kitchen inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipating needed supplies.
- Place clean dishes and utensils in their designated storage areas.
- Clean garbage cans and other kitchen equipment as required.
- Assist kitchen staffs in simple food preparation tasks, such as portioning ingredients, peeling and slicing vegetables, and other tasks as needed.
- Follow all standards and protocols for hygiene and safety as set by the establishment.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate and maintain dishwashing equipment – training will be given if not.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours and holidays when necessary
- Good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ability to take instructions and ask questions when unsure
- Understands professional work behaviours specifically regarding phone usage
- Clean and honest, practices good personal hygiene
