About the business
Evollve is a Sydney-based HR consulting firm that partners with businesses as a fractional HR function. Brooke Brown, Evollve’s Managing Director, works across a portfolio of clients and oversees everything from workforce planning to offshore hiring. One of Evollve’s larger clients is a hospitality group with over 600 local staff, building an offshore function to support its growing back-office operations. When it came to standing up a Philippines team, Brooke needed a way to source, screen, hire and employ without switching between platforms or providers.
The challenge
Offshore hiring without the right infrastructure creates friction at every stage. Finding candidates, managing interviews, issuing compliant contracts and processing international payroll each typically require a separate tool, a separate vendor, or both. For a fractional HR director, managing multiple clients simultaneously can be inefficient and unsustainable.
Brooke had already used HeroForce to employ Philippines-based staff for other clients, sourcing candidates via LinkedIn and using Employment Hero purely for the employment and compliance layer. The process worked, but sourcing and onboarding still sat across different systems. For SRG’s finance administrator role, she wanted to test whether the entire journey, from posting to placement, could run inside Employment Hero.
The solution
Brooke posted directly on the Employment Hero Jobs Board, which reached the Philippine market. The results were immediate, and the quality was higher than expected.
“We had 12 applicants, interviewed four, and the client said they would’ve happily hired three. A 25% success rate from interview to hireable candidate is a strong result.”
From there, every subsequent step ran inside the same platform. Applications flowed directly into the Employment Hero Applicant Tracking System, where Brooke and client’s hiring managers could review candidates, progress them through stages and manage interview coordination, without manual handoffs or emails outside the system. Once the candidate was selected, Brooke initiated onboarding through HeroForce.
“Employment Hero’s recruitment automations are incredibly quick to implement straight out of the box, unlike enterprise systems that can take a year. In terms of capability and value for money, I haven’t seen a better system.”
Here’s how the end-to-end process worked:
- Posted to the Jobs Board. The role attracted 12 applicants from the Philippines without any direct market promotion.
- Managed in the ATS. All applications were tracked and progressed inside Employment Hero. Hiring managers were added to specific roles, removing the need to send anything manually outside the system.
- Offer made, onboarding initiated. Once the preferred candidate was selected, Brooke initiated HeroForce onboarding directly in the platform – selecting the Philippines, reviewing statutory entitlements and confirming contract terms.
- Identity verified, contract issued. HeroForce team verified the candidate’s identity and issued a compliant Philippines employment contract. Brooke received a notification once onboarding was complete.
- Employed under HeroForce international. The hire is now employed through HeroForce with payroll, statutory obligations and ongoing compliance managed by Employment Hero and the client retaining full day-to-day management of the role.
“Using Employment Hero to onboard a global employee feels almost identical to onboarding a local one. Once identity checks are completed, the contract is sent, signed, and onboarding is done, with notifications at every step.”
The ROI
- One platform managed the entire hiring journey, from job ad to signed contract, with no external vendors or tool switching required.
- Strong candidate quality from a cold job post: 12 applicants led to 4 interviews and 3 hireable candidates for a finance admin role in a new market.
- Global onboarding completed in under 24 hours for candidates with documentation ready.
- Philippines compliance, tax and statutory obligations fully managed by the HeroForce team, removing operational burden from the client.
- A scalable offshore hiring model now replicated across multiple clients, with repeatable success already demonstrated.
“It’s that foresight HeroForce gives in terms of growth and scalability and not just what works now, but what will work in the future. The recruitment feature is amazing.”
Why it matters
For Evollve’s clients, the ability to build an offshore function without managing multiple vendors, compliance frameworks or hiring systems is a real operational advantage. For Brooke, it demonstrates what’s possible when the full hiring journey lives in one place — and it’s a model she’s now replicating across her portfolio.
The most meaningful outcome isn’t the speed or the cost saving. It’s that a 600-person hospitality group can now hire internationally with the same confidence and process rigour it applies to every local hire because the platform treats both the same.
