WEG Australia is now looking to expand its growing Service department with a new opportunity in the role of a Service Technician. Located in Banyo, Brisbane, the role of Service Technician offers you a pathway to use your hands-on experience to assist in providing our customers with technical solutions, all while providing excellent field service support.
Role Overview:
As a Service Technician you will play a crucial role in both our sales and after-sales teams. Focusing on the needs of the customer you will work with all stakeholders to find a technical solution to suit. Handling after-sales enquiries for Queensland you will be responsible for delivering essential technical support to our WEG staff, distributors, and customers on the application, use, installation, commissioning and set-up of WEG Products.
This is a full-time position. A company vehicle and all tools required will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Sales: Work closely with the sales team to provide technical solutions to meet customers’ expectations and requirements.
- Technical Support: Provide technical services to clients relating to use, application, operation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of WEG’s rotating and static machines.
- Field Services: Provide onsite commissioning and troubleshooting services when required, in various locations (locally, interstate or overseas).
- Phone Support: Provide troubleshooting support for products over the phone where and when required.
- Spare Parts: Provide spare parts quotations and interpretation documents to assist customers in keeping their WEG products running efficiently.
- Training & Development: Working with our network of Authorised Service Partners to deliver training on WEG products.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: An Australian Electrical License, Driver’s License, Construction Induction Card and Passport (or ability to hold a passport).
- Experience: 5 years’ experience as a qualified electrician and 2 years’ related experience with drives and/or soft starters.
- Skills: Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication. Advanced problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and present to small and large groups. Proficient with computers, networks and the Microsoft Suite of software.
- Advantageous: Experience in the renewables sector specifically BESS and Wind. Experience in designing, programming, and commissioning PLCs and/or HMIs.
