The Role
We are seeking a Farm Hand with specialised experience in irrigation and pivot systems to join our Petro property, located in in Eneabba, far northern Western Australia. In this vital role, you will work closely with the Farm Manager to ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of our pastoral management, with a particular focus on optimising our irrigation systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of various irrigation technologies, including pivot systems, and have proven experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation of these systems. Additionally, practical knowledge in water resource management, soil health, and general farm operations is essential. This role requires a hands-on, proactive approach and the ability to work in warm remote conditions, adapting to the unique challenges of the region to drive productivity and sustainability on our property within a close-knit team of staff dedicated to producing high quality beef in northwest WA.
Skills + Experience Required
- Irrigation experience (mandatory)
- Experience in cattle handling and animal husbandry including feeding, monitoring of breeder calving (mandatory)
- Horse-riding & low stress livestock experience (mandatory)
- Cattle work and yard work
- Operation of farm machinery including light vehicles, tractors, and telehandler
- Maintenance of and basic servicing of farm plant and equipment
- Fencing and water trough maintenance
- General farm duties and maintenance
- A commitment to and compliance with Safety
