After an incredibly successful launch of our first site at Canterbury League Club last December, SportsPlus is now proud to be partnering with the Doylo RSL for our second SportsPlus Arena, opening this September.
We’re stoked to be pioneers in Social Sports Entertainment, a new style of entertainment destination which serves up an incredible combo of seven sports simulator activities under one roof.
Our Doylo site is a 700-square-metre social playground for kids and adults alike where patrons play & compete in immersive simulator games including Cricket, Tennis, Baseball, Lacrosse, Darts, Golf & F1 Racing.
Job Title:
SportsPlus Arena Venue Manager
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Doylo site.
- Ensure all customers receive the best possible experience from the moment they check in, to their simulator inductions, to when they walk out wanting more!
- Manage a small team of 4-5 casual staff, including all rostering responsibilities, staff development and goal setting.
- Provide training and onboarding to any new staff members that join the team.
- Cultivate a truly ‘team first’ culture with elite standards across the board.
- Handle general enquiries for bookings, events complaints and incidents.
- Nurture and close event enquiries with a focus on ‘winning the business’.
- Deliver first class in-venue events, encompassing all simulator activities and customer experience.
- Work closely with the Doylo F&B team who are responsible for making and serving all food and drink into the SportsPlus area.
- Liaise with the SportsPlus HQ team to ensure consistent delivery of the SportsPlus product at Doylo.
- Lead in-venue / local community marketing and promotions to drive increased revenue.
- Identify new business opportunities, marketing strategies & cost saving measures to increase venue performance.
- Be incentivised to hit venue financial targets and manage venue budgets.
- Basic cash management duties such as safe counts and banking.
- Ensure the SportsPlus area and simulators are in good working condition including carrying our servicing.
- Uphold the highest of WHS standards across the team.
- Enforcement of Club rules including industry compliance, health & safety regulations, dress regulations and RSA.
What you won’t be doing:
Management of F&B related activities (the Doylo will provide all bar and food related services).
You will interface with the Doylo F&B team because SportsPlus customers will be eating and drinking in the SportsPlus area, however the serving and management is handled by Doylo staff.
Requirements:
- First Aid certification.
- Proven management experience in hospitality or entertainment (2 – 3 years).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong adaptability and organisational skills.
- A true passion for guest experiences.
- Genuine curiosity and an open mind.
- A desire to continuously learn and improve.
- Ability to work weekends
