Process Technician – Leading Hand

Reporting to the Process Supervisor the Process Technician – Leading Hand is responsible for assisting in overseeing daily operation of the processing plant ensuring safe, efficient and continuous production. This hand-on role involves providing guidance to processing technicians, technical trouble shooting to achieve production targets and ensuring fixed and mobile plant are operated in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Process Supervisor and assist in leading a team of process technicians to achieve production targets safely and efficiently

• Operate and maintain a range of processing equipment including crushers, mills, CIL and electrowinning circuits

• Operate mobile machinery including IT loader, skidsteer, forklift, excavator in a safe and efficient manner

• Inspect and monitor plant performance regularly and troubleshoot operational issues to minimise downtime and achieve production targets

• Ensure compliance with all site safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

• Accurately complete shift logs, inspections, pre-starts, hazard reports, and safety documentation.

• Ensure ongoing training and development of processing personnel to attain key competencies and meet site standards and legislative requirements

About you:

• Minimum 5 years experience in a base metal processing environment

• Strong understanding of metallurgical processes and plant operations relating to crushing, milling, leaching, gravity and the elution circuit as well as control room and water management

• Proven Isolation and/or Permit to Work operational experience

• Highly autonomous, organized, self-starting and proactive team player with ability to multi-task and lead effectively

• Proven leadership and team management skills

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

• Mobile machinery licenses desirable including skid steer, forklift, front end loader, excavator

• Current class C manual licence

• Mining Supervisor G1,G8,G9 (desirable)

• Enterprise trainer and assessor (desirable)

• Reasonable computer skills including MS Office suite
