COMPANY

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a major manufacturer located in Dandenong South, manufacturing a diverse range of engineered rubber and bonded metal/rubber composite products for the automotive, defence, rail, transport, marine, mining and industrial markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will be an integral part of the executive team and will be responsible for planning, managing, implementing and running all financial activities which includes business forecasting, budgeting and negotiating and planning for business operations. Your role will also be responsible for financial matters relating to maintaining compliance, liaising with partners for effective management and strategic planning to successfully enable the company to achieve long and short term objectives.

Key responsibilities will include: 

Leadership

  • Ensure statutory compliance and corporate governance requirements are met
  • Lead and develop key programs and projects
  • Provide continuous improvement to corporate financial position and workplace culture
  • Provide key leadership to ensure development and implementation of financial strategies
  • Provide financial advice to Board of Directors and executive team on strategic and operational aspects of financial management.
  • Lead a collaborative financial planning process to ensure effective financial planning/budgeting cycle
  • Build culture and engagement of the finance team
  • Commit to continuous improvement of department
  • Lead the annual budgeting process

Operational

  • Provide timely and professional advice relating to the company’s financial position
  • Identify and implement financial strategies and solutions to achieve organisational and strategic management targets
  • Implement robust management systems, both financial and corporate management systems to increase efficiency, clarity and accountability.
  • Liaise with key external parties to ensure continuous reporting and capture including bank, auditors, legal, insurance and government agencies.

Controls

  • Monitor and implement statutory legal and legislative compliance
  • Review, develop and maximise effective cash flow management and weekly forecasting
  • Implement appropriate internal control framework, supported by risk management policies in line with delegated authorities.
  • Monitor performance against approved budget and report to CEO and the Board of Directors

Strategic

  • Maintain relationships with external auditors and financial institutions to meet requirements of the annual financial statement.
  • Work with executive team to develop investment proposals and provide access to project related financial information
  • Perform risk management analysis of company liabilities and investments and evaluate/manage capital structure
  • Provide performance tracking and corrective measures in detailed reports, both current and forecast
  • Manage finance personnel to ensure effective output of department

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CA/CPA
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in executive leadership or senior position
  • Proven experience as CFO or senior financial role
  • In-depth knowledge of risk management practices, data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Highly experienced in budgeting and financial modelling
  • Manufacturing industry experience essential
  • High level of leadership skill and management experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of cost accounting, regulatory management and taxation planning
  • Be eligible for NV-1 Australian Government Security Clearance, sponsored by Mackay
