About the Opportunity
Due to seasonal work, Flavorite Mansfield is regularly seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as casual employees. These casual roles involve joining our team as a Team Member in one of the departments listed below working in our Capsicum crops. Successful applicants will be provided with extensive training to understand the quality and performance standards required.
Production
As a team member in Production, your tasks may include:
- Picking: Harvesting produce in line with colour and quality standards
- General additional tasks: May include cleaning, plant and equipment operation, and more
Crop Care
As a team member in Crop Care, your tasks may include:
- Lateral Pruning: Removing side shoots (lateral growth) from the main plant stem to support healthy development.
- Metal Clipping: Attaching the plant to support strings using a clipping tool to help it grow upright.
- Truss Pruning: Pruning each truss to a specific number of fruits or for uniformity, ensuring better fruit size and quality.
- Layering: Gently lowering plants along their support lines to maintain even crop height and ensure fruit remains within reach for pickers.
- Pollination: Using a leaf blower to move pollen within the flowers and assist in natural pollination.
- De-leafing: Removing selected leaves based on instructions to expose the picking truss and improve airflow around the plant.
- Crop Changeover: Assisting with the annual crop transition, including removal of old plants, thorough cleaning of the glasshouse, and replanting.
- Other Duties: May include setting up arch supports, identifying pests or diseases, and reporting any issues.

Core capabilities of successful candidates
We’re looking for individuals who are reliable, motivated, and capable of performing repetitive tasks with a high level of attention to detail. Successful candidates will be physically fit, able to follow instructions accurately, and work well as part of a team. A functional level of verbal and written English is also required to ensure safe and effective communication in the workplace.
