Regional Director, Advice (NSW & QLD)

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Director, Advice (NSW & QLD) to lead our Advice operations across two key regions. Reporting to the Chief Advice Officer, you’ll play a critical role in driving performance, embedding best practice, and fostering a culture that supports both clients and advisers to succeed.
This position is part of our Senior Leadership Team, offering the opportunity to influence business direction, support growth initiatives, and ensure the consistent delivery of advice excellence aligned to our Client Value Proposition and the CAG Way.
The Opportunity
As Regional Director, you will:

Lead Regional Advice Operations – Oversee the day-to-day delivery of financial advice across NSW and QLD, ensuring that clients receive consistent, high-quality outcomes. Work closely with advisers to align advice strategies with compliance standards, business processes, and the company’s investment philosophy.

Shape Regional Strategy & Growth – Translate group-level strategy into clear, actionable plans for your region. Support M&A integration by onboarding new practices and advisers, ensuring a smooth transition and cultural alignment. Identify opportunities for efficiency, innovation, and revenue growth, while contributing recommendations to the senior leadership team.

Support Acquisitions & Onboarding – Play an active role in integrating new practices and advisers into the region. Lead onboarding initiatives to ensure smooth transitions, operational alignment, and cultural fit.

Inspire People & Culture – Act as a visible and supportive leader to advisers and support staff. Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and succession planning, while fostering a workplace culture that reflects our values. Provide mentoring and professional development opportunities to grow talent, including Professional Year and junior advisers.

Manage Financial Performance – Monitor and maintain the regional budget, including staffing, travel, and operational expenses. Ensure resources are allocated effectively to achieve Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) while maintaining financial discipline.

Champion Compliance & Best Practice – Work closely with the Compliance team to ensure all regional activities meet ASIC, FASEA, and AFSL requirements. Maintain oversight of advice processes and workflows to ensure regulatory standards are consistently met. Promote continuous improvement in systems, reporting, and operational excellence.
About You
- To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Proven leadership experience within financial planning, advice operations, or wealth management.
- Strong people leadership skills, with experience in HR management, performance development, and building high-performing teams.
- A strong understanding of compliance and advice frameworks, with a track record of driving operational efficiency.
- Commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets and regional performance.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Management, or a related field (Financial Planning certifications highly regarded).
