Position Title: Regional Manager, Advice

Position Type: Full Time

Reports to: Chief Advice Officer (CAO)

Primary Role

  1. Advice Operations: Oversee the delivery of advice within your region to ensure consistency across the group with Client Value Proposition (CVP) and the “CAG Way”.
  2. Strategy Development: Support the onboarding of M&A activity within the region. Support and implement strategic changes developed by the Executive Team for the region.
  3. People Management: Oversee people management such as leave, performance monitoring, grievance handling, training and development for all staff within the Advice region. Assist with employee lifecycle management.
  4. Culture Management: Champion a strong workplace culture through inclusive leadership, regular communication and CAG cultural initiatives
  5. Mentoring: Providing mentoring, training and development opportunities to all staff within the Advice region
  6. Actively promote, manage and achieve the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) set for the region.
  7. Financial Management: Monitor and maintain the allocated budget for the region including management of staff expenses, travel requirements and operating expenses related to the delivery of Advice.
  8. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all internal and external compliance requirements and policies

Duties and Responsibilities

Advice Operations:

  • Support the delivery of Advice by ensuring a consistent, high-quality client experience across all touchpoints.
  • Ensure all Advisers within the region adhere to company processes and policies in relation to the delivery, creation and research related to Advice.
  • Working with the Chief Operating Office and Adviser Operations Departments ensure that appropriate workflows and implemented and followed
  • Monitor and support the achievement of OKRs set for the region
  • Maintain close relationships with clients and stakeholders were appropriate
  • Champion marketing initiatives and efforts for individuals, the region and the wider business as appropriate and/or requested
  • Educate and support the Adviser group to develop sound and considered advice strategies that support client goals, advice compliance and align to the CAG investment philosophy
  • Ensure that staff uphold the pricing methodology within the region
  • Provide high-level oversight of workflows and business systems, supporting automation, efficiency, and data integrity

Strategy Development:

  • Support the onboarding of M&A activity and integration into the region as directed
  • Support the development, implementation, and review of business strategies
  • Contribute to business improvement initiatives, change management and strategic planning within the region.
  • Provide recommendations to the Executive and Senior Leadership teams on business process improvements, changes and new initiatives.

People Management:

  • Manage HR functions for the region including leave management, performance management, grievance management, succession planning, etc.
  • Where required or needed, escalate HR issues to the Chief Advice Officer (CAO) and/or the HR Department
  • Ensure consistent employee adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Provide regular feedback to all staff through one-to-one meetings
  • Manage staff remuneration expectations through regular conversations, ensure open and regular feedback to CAO and HR on salary and reward expectations
  • Manage, in conjunction with HR, any underperformance, cultural or behavioral issues within the Region. Enable, through regular team meetings and one-to-ones, early intervention in the case of issues or concerns and provide updates to HR where appropriate.
  • Act as the first point of contact for Staff HR enquiries within the region.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities

Culture Management:

  • Ensure CAG culture and values are upheld by all staff within the region
  • Champion a strong workplace culture through inclusive leadership
  • Embody the CAG culture strategy
  • Work alongside HR to monitor and report any culture issues
  • Mediate workplace grievances and where appropriate escalate to HR
  • Encourage a working environment that promotes and embraces the company values

Mentoring:

  • Provide mentoring and leadership guidance to junior staff including support and junior/PY advisers.
  • Make recommendations for staff promotions
  • Encourage staff training and development opportunities

Financial Management:

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets
  • Adhere to set budgets as provided by the Finance Department
  • Monitor budgetary spending within the region, ensuring that funds are appropriate used through the management of staff travel, expenses, reimbursements etc
  • Ensure that spending is accurately reported to the Finance Department.

Compliance:

  • With support from the Compliance Manager ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, including ASIC and FASEA standards across all staff, processes and operations
  • Where required, contribute to the updating of company policies and procedures

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities & Attitude Required

  • Effective management skills to provide support and guidance to all staff; goal management and setting,
  • Experience with HR functions, recruitment, performance management, employee lifecycle management
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of financial planning processes, systems and procedures
  • Experience with compliance management
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience managing budgets and operational costs

Qualifications & Other Requirements

  • Tertiary Education in Business, Management or a similar related field.
  • Project management certifications an advantage
  • Financial Planning certifications an advantage
  • Adhere to policies and procedures in relation to compliance with financial services law and the Company’s AFSL conditions.
  • Adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures.
