The Position

Carter Newell has an opportunity available in our Brisbane office to commence a career in the legal industry as a Legal Office Assistant. This is a great entry level role and involves a range of administration tasks, including:

  • Internal and external deliveries including document lodgment (court filing, titles office)
  • Covering reception and assisting with meeting room setup for meetings, conferences, seminars, and presentations.
  • Photocopying, scanning, printing, and mailroom assistance
  • Monitoring and ordering stationery and kitchen supplies
  • Archiving and filing assistance
  • Daily banking and other finance duties
  • Assistance to business support teams; Marketing, IT, Finance, People & Culture, and Knowledge.
  • General office support duties

The successful candidate will be employed initially on a 12-month contract. Advancement into legal secretarial or other office administration roles within IT, Finance or Marketing may also be available at the completion of the contract.

Essential Experience and Criteria

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • A “can do” approach with a strong customer service focus;
  • Motivated to take initiative
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Smart professional presentation;
  • Intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skills;
  • A proactive, highly organised approach with the ability to multi-task
  • A desire to learn and grow within a supportive environment.

This is a full time position. Remuneration will be in accordance with the Legal Services Award 2020.
