Brisbane Youth Service (BYS) has worked with young people (aged 12 to 25 years) and young families experiencing or at risk of homelessness since 1977.

A leader in the community services industry, BYS provides housing, physical and mental health services, as well as specialist programs for young women and young families, to assist them to overcome challenges and achieve life goals. This full or part-time position of Marketing and Communications Officer supports our mission by supporting the delivery of BYS fundraising, marketing, and communications strategies and content.

You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Media or related field with a strong foundation in content creation and audience engagement.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar marketing and/or communications role supporting with content development, digital marketing, and/or communications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of maintaining brand integrity in alignment with the BYS Style Guide, as well as improving BYS brand visibility and recognition.
  • Experience supporting the development of marketing materials such as flyers, social tiles, posters, presentations, brochures, annual report, merchandise, banners, etc. in line with established visual identity.
  • Experience supporting the development of compelling, topical content for use in communication materials such as campaigns and appeals, and for social media platforms.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills that support the ability to implement marketing and communication plans.

Given the work that we do there will be a few non-negotiables. You’ll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:

  • A Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
  • A National Coordinated Criminal History Check [Police Check].
  • Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases – Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella [Chicken Pox]; Pertussis [Whooping Cough].
