Digital Organising Officer

Are you passionate about workers’ rights, social justice and skilled in digital campaigning? The ASU is looking for a creative and strategic Digital Organising Officer to help grow our movement and empower ASU members across Victoria and Tasmania.

The ASU is an organising union that protects and improves our members’ working lives. Our union is growing, using strategies to bring workers together to collectively stand to improve wages and conditions. Delegate development is central to everything we do as we see this as fundamental to continuing to grow and build power as a union.

In this exciting new role, you’ll lead digital engagement, support campaigns, and build the Union’s online presence using cutting-edge tools and platforms. You’ll work closely with leadership, organisers, delegates and members, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful digital strategies that support industrial, political, and community campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement digital organising strategies
  • Create compelling content for social media, websites, and email campaigns
  • Support organisers and delegates in using digital tools
  • Manage digital platforms and track engagement
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in digital organising or campaigning in union, political, or social justice contexts
  • Strong skills in digital content creation, including writing, design, and video
  • Proficiency in managing websites, social media, and email platforms
  • Ability to develop and implement digital strategies that drive engagement
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in training others in digital tools and platforms
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Commitment to union values and social justice
  • Understanding of the industrial and bargaining environment
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Current Victorian or Tasmanian driver’s licence
