Position Overview:
The Senior HR Advisor plays a pivotal role within the People & Culture function, acting as a trusted partner to the business and a champion of high-impact, human-centred people experiences. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, this generalist position spans the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance, engagement, and offboarding. You will have a strong emphasis on delivering seamless processes, proactive support and consistent communication. The role is instrumental in driving people initiatives that elevate capability, culture and connection across our teams. It requires a collaborative mindset and a passion for enabling others to thrive through strong stakeholder engagement, targeted training and development and a continual focus on improvement.
You will take ownership of critical HR deliverables and ensure that every interaction reflects our purpose of Inspiring Healthier Lives. As a cultural champion, you will help embed our core principles: Do It, See It, Feel It, Own It, Together into everyday rhythms and ensure the team feels supported, inspired and set up for success.
Key Responsibilities include:
🔁 Employee Lifecycle Management
- Lead HR activities and offer end-to-end support across onboarding, induction, performance reviews, goal-setting, development planning and offboarding
- Maintain accurate and secure employee documentation and records
- In conjunction with the Head of P&C, support annual HR milestones including remuneration planning, bonus programs and leave tracking etc.
- Coach and support People Managers on best practice and complex people matters and processes
📌 Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage full recruitment process from advertising to offer letters
- Act as the ATS/HRIS super user and process advisor for all hiring managers
- Advise hiring managers on recruitment systems and best practices
- Provide oversight and guidance for managing job advertisements across the club network
- Ensure compliance across recruitment activities and deliver a best in class candidate experience
- Build and nurture a strong talent pipeline for future growth across the Support Office and broader network
🧭 Onboarding & Offboarding
- Guide new hires through an engaging and seamless onboarding experience
- Support administration and tools required for smooth onboarding
- Enable impactful 90-day and probationary reviews
- Conduct exit interviews and report insights to leadership
💬 Culture & Engagement
- In partnership with the Head of P&C, champion initiatives that promote inclusion, wellbeing and a high-performing workplace
- Coordinate engagement activities, team events, recognition programs and employee feedback
- Own the Health & Wellness annual strategy and coordinate the relevant initiatives
- Own internal communications, including newsletters, surveys and town halls
🤝 Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Build deep relationships across teams and promote trust, collaboration and transparency
- Drive consistent, engaging internal messaging
- Align culture and ways of working across multiple locations (remote, offshore)
- Collaborate across departments to embed the P&C strategy effectively
🛡️ Employee Relations
- Respond to employee queries on policies and benefits
- Provide timely, compliant advice and manage escalations as needed
- Support or lead complex employee relations matters
📚 Training & Development
- Co-design and deliver targeted learning and development programs
- Identify skill gaps and growth pathways
- Facilitate workshops and support leadership capability uplift
- Champion mentoring and succession planning initiatives
📊 HR Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement
- Maintain accurate employee records and system compliance
- Optimise HR tools and workflows for efficiency
- Track key people metrics and share insights
- Drive continuous improvement across HR processes
Experience and About You:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in mid-size organisations
- Background in fitness, health, wellness or franchise environments is a plus
- Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and relationship building
- Proven experience in leading training, development and employee experience programs
- Familiarity with supporting remote or offshore teams
- Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders and influence outcomes with confidence
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams etc.) with strong capability in communication and presentation design
- Highly proficient with HRIS and recruitment tools and platforms (e.g. Employment Hero, Seek, LinkedIn)
- Exceptional communication and coaching skills
- Strategic mindset with a human-first approach to problem solving
