Mechanic – Charters Towers

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanic to join us to support the overall function of our agricultural team at our Wonga Plains Feedlot. The role involves scheduling regular maintenance, sourcing quotes on major repairs and discussing equipment upkeep and replacement with management.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose mechanical problems, carry out repairs and maintenance, and replace parts as necessary.
• Complete regular maintenance checks to ensure machinery and equipment is operating smoothly and efficiently.
• Install and set up new machinery and equipment in as required.
• Work with other members of maintenance team to test new equipment for functionality and safety.
• Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
• Document work orders and repair records to ensure accountability and transparency. 

Qualifications:

• Vocational or trade school certification in mechanical repair or similar field.
• Knowledge of mechanical operations in both petrol and diesel engines.
• Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Committed to maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety procedures.
