About the Opportunity:
It goes without saying that a strong work ethic is a fundamental asset for a technician. This means that as a technician you will go above and beyond to make sure that the customer will be taken care of. You will achieve this as you will check for any possible issues that could prevent problems in the future and give the customer an honest assessment.
Our role will be to support, train and guide you through your journey, ensuring you have every opportunity to be one of the best technicians in our team!
With the fast pace of automotive technology, it is important that you enjoy staying on top of the latest automotive technology and you seek to learn new techniques and skills.
- Ensures repairs, replacements, preventative maintenance, diagnostic work and faulty parts matters are undertaken effectively and in line with the standards as set out by the company.
- Ensure all work relating to reassemble, test, clean and adjust repairs or replacement or assemblies and ensure work is undertaken effectively and in line with the standards as set out by the company.
- Inspects vehicles for roadworthiness and creates work lists required for certification.
- Supports as necessary the supervision of apprentices.
- Maintains the professional and tidy appearance and presentation of workshop services area and ensures tools and equipment are clean, tidy and maintained.
- Ensures all warranty parts are securely and accurately tagged and stored in the appropriate location.
- Identifies problems, determines relationship between cause and effect, and examines information from different sources to determine the best course of action.
- Effectively communicates with vehicle drivers/operators to seek necessary information to ascertain faults, including test drives when necessary.
- Accurately captures and completes vehicle details on the requisition order.
- Uses electronic test equipment to locate and correct malfunctions in lighting, instrumentation, electronic fuel injection, ignition, and emissions control systems.
The hours of this role will be from 2:30pm – 11:00pm, Monday to Thursday and 12:30pm – 9:00pm, Fridays (including 18% loading)
