Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation that aims to empower Aboriginal people to take control of their individual, family, and community health and wellbeing needs through our clinical and community programs.

Our main services are in Wellington, Dubbo, Moree, Western Sydney, Penrith, Nepean, and Blue Mountains, and we provide outreach services to other towns and communities through our regional programs.

Multiple Positions :- 1 X men’s program & 1 X women’s program

About the Role:

The Program Manager Justice Our Way provides a range of administrative services to support the Aboriginal Family Wellbeing Workers and delivery of the Justice Our Way Program objectives. Working closely with the Aboriginal Family Wellbeing Workers, the role will oversee the direction of internal and external correspondence through appropriate pathways. The role will participate in discussion and solutions on the operational needs of the Justice Our Way Program and support communication between key stakeholders of the program including the completion of data reporting requirements. This role will also advocate for the continuation or development of new relationships with community services to support clients of the Justice Our Way Program. .

Key responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Support Aboriginal Family Wellbeing Workers in in-reach clinics by:
  • Liaising with Justice Health NSW and Corrective Services for court release dates
  • Managing program operations, reporting, and supporting expansion
  • Preparing clinic lists using client triaging and providing them to the Nursing Unit Manager
  • Assist with admin tasks including scanning, uploading documents, making referrals, and booking appointments
  • Notify relevant stakeholders of clinic cancellations
  • Support escalation of client access issues through established pathways
  • Attend Justice Our Way Program meetings and collaborate with research partners for data collection and reporting
  • Collate and prepare data reports for Justice Health NSW and WACHS
  • Escalate program issues as needed using sound judgment
  • Build referral pathways and links to community support
  • Complete all required training (Justice Health NSW, ECAV, WACHS)
  • Foster strong working relationships with stakeholders and services
  • Manage competing priorities and support staff while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in implementing complex health/justice programs in Aboriginal communities.
  • Understand the health needs and challenges faced by Aboriginal clients in custody.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational, written and verbal communication, and IT skills.
  • Experienced in managing community or justice-related programs from planning to evaluation.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and adapting to change.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining partnerships with Aboriginal communities and service providers.
  • Committed to culturally safe and respectful engagement with Aboriginal families and services.
  • Able to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to their direction.
  • Experienced in stakeholder consultation, especially with Aboriginal and culturally diverse groups.
  • Relevent qualification in Aboriginal family health or social work.
