We’re now seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Catering Sales Manager to lead the way with weddings and social events. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role is responsible for driving sales, building strong relationships, and overseeing the planning and execution of high-end celebrations. You’ll be the key point of contact from first enquiry to final farewell, delivering events that align with our values of sustainability, connection, and conscious luxury.
About the Role:
We’re searching for a passionate, strategic, and service-focused Catering Sales Manager to lead weddings and social events at 1 Hotel Melbourne. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you’ll be responsible for achieving individual and team sales targets, nurturing key client relationships, and delivering unforgettable event experiences – from initial enquiry to final farewell.
You’ll work across sales, planning, and execution – creating seamless, high-touch weddings and social celebrations that reflect our brand values of sustainability, luxury, and connection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to attract new wedding and social event business
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships to meet and exceed revenue targets
- Create detailed event documentation including Banquet Event Orders and floor plans
- Collaborate closely with Convention Services, Banquets, and Operations teams
- Confirm contracts, payments, and event details with clients
- Represent the hotel at site inspections, tradeshows, and familiarisations
- Ensure all events reflect the high standards and ethos of 1 Hotels
- Promote a positive, supportive team culture across departments
About you:
- 4+ years of sales experience in luxury hospitality or event management
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end event sales, planning, and execution
- Confident using sales and event systems (e.g., Delphi or similar platforms)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to multitask under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Passionate about sustainability and meaningful guest experiences
