As we expand, we’re seeking a skilled Lead Cloud Network Engineer to drive the development and optimization of our cloud network infrastructure. About the Role
The Lead Cloud Network Engineer designs, implements, and manages hybrid cloud and on-premises network infrastructure for optimal performance, security, and seamless connectivity. This role leads cloud network architecture, SD-WAN deployments, and network automation using DevOps practices. Working with cross-functional teams, the engineer optimises cloud networking resources, resolves critical issues, and applies expertise in traditional (Cisco, Meraki) and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP). The role also includes mentoring the operational team and leading cloud network transformation projects.
In this role you will:
- Design and manage cloud and on-prem network architectures, supporting hybrid strategies for growth
- Optimize AWS networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, etc.) and secure hybrid connectivity
- Architect SD-WAN deployments for application performance, intelligent path selection, and failover
- Implement security solutions (firewalls, WAFs, Shield) and enforce network governance policies
- Apply Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK) and maintain CI/CD pipelines for network infrastructure
- Automate testing, monitor performance, and develop disaster recovery and optimization strategies
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams, creating network documentation
- Lead evaluation of new technologies and ensure compliance with ISO27001 standards
About You
You’re a strategic and adaptable network specialist with a deep understanding of both traditional and cloud networking. You excel at designing, implementing, and managing hybrid cloud and on-premises network infrastructures that optimize performance and security. With expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as SD-WAN deployments and network automation, you take ownership of network architecture from design to production. You’re a proactive problem solver who communicates complex ideas effectively and collaborates with diverse teams to create secure, scalable solutions.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in Network Systems or related field, with advanced knowledge of cloud networking services and protocols
- 4+ years’ experience in cloud and network engineering
- Experience with Cisco, Meraki, SD-WAN, next-gen firewalls, and hybrid connectivity
- Proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK), and automation (Python, Ansible)
- Familiarity with container networking, GitOps, security controls, and AWS IAM
- Knowledge of cost optimization, emerging trends (5G, SASE), and ISO27001 compliance
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred.
