Job title: Manager, First Nations Engagement

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as the Manager of First Nations Engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with First Nations communities, stakeholders, and organizations. They will work collaboratively to ensure that Indigenous perspectives are integrated into all aspects of our organization.

Skills:

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills

– Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures and traditions

– Ability to build trust and establish rapport with diverse groups

– Project management experience

– Excellent organizational skills

Responsibilities:

– Develop and implement strategies for engaging with First Nations communities in a respectful manner

– Facilitate partnerships between our organization and Indigenous groups to promote mutual understanding and collaboration

– Coordinate events, workshops, and initiatives that support reconciliation efforts

– Advocate for Indigenous rights within the organization and externally

– Provide cultural competency training for staff members

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Indigenous studies, social work, or related field (or equivalent experience)

– Minimum of 2 years experience working in a similar role

– Demonstrated commitment to advancing reconciliation efforts

– Knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to Indigenous rights

– Ability to travel occasionally for meetings or events
