Position Summary:

We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutors to join our academic team to support students across various year levels—from primary school through to Year 12 (VCE). The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, confident in facilitating engaging study sessions either one-to-one or in small group settings, and skilled at adapting instruction to suit different learning styles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate high-quality study sessions for students in:
    • Primary (Prep–Year 6): Literacy, numeracy, foundational skills
    • High School (Years 7–10): Core subjects (English, Maths, Science, Humanities)
    • VCE (Years 11–12): Specialised subjects such as English Language, Math Methods, General Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Psychology, Business Management, Accounting, Legal Studies, etc.
  • Identify learning gaps and tailor lessons to individual student needs
  • Support students with schoolwork, assignments, SAC preparation, and exam strategies
  • Monitor and provide feedback on student progress
  • Maintain a positive and professional learning environment
  • Collaborate with staff and attend ongoing training as required

Requirements:

  • Essential
    • Strong academic background with a high ATAR or completion/enrolment in a relevant university degree
    • Strong subject knowledge in at least 2 VCE subjects
    • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
    • Reliable, punctual, highly organised, and professional
    • Passionate about learning and helping students with diverse learning abilities achieve their best
    • Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one
    • Available to work between 3:00 – 7:00 pm Monday-Friday (at least 2 days a week) and/or between 9:00am – 5:00pm on Saturday
  • Desirable
    • Previous tutoring or teaching experience
    • Strong subject knowledge in one or more of the following VCE subjects: Accounting, Legal Studies, General Maths, English
    • Experience with the Victorian Curriculum and VCE study design
    • Ability to facilitate study sessions across multiple year levels and subjects
    • Familiarity with remote/online tutoring platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) and prior experience in providing online tutoring
