Post is COMO The Treasury’s city osteria, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. Post takes its name from the location – the franking room of Perth’s original General Post Office in the State Buildings. Our evolving menu offers a contemporary take on classic Italian cuisine, with menu choices guided by seasonal ingredients.

The Sous Chef Role:

We are seeking an experienced Chef with outstanding leadership, organisational and communication skills. We create exceptional experiences for all of our guests, and our people are at the heart of this. As Head Chef, you will be responsible leading, coaching and developing our team to be the best they can be while delivering exceptional experiences to our guests. In addition to this, you will ensure the smooth running of the kitchen including management of profit, stock, wastage control, hygiene practices and training. You’ll pride yourself in ensuring the Kitchen team are energised, motivated and well placed to deliver consistency of standards and a high level of performance and presentation.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage to design and deliver a range of menus including a la carte, functions, in-room dining and degustation
  • Overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that the quality of our output exceeds customer expectations
  • Guiding the kitchen team to ensure consistent quality in food, appearance, and taste
  • Maintaining the quality of food preparation
  • Developing the skills of all kitchen employees through appropriate training, coaching, or mentoring

Skills and Experience:

Ideal candidates will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Exceptional Leadership and coaching skills
  • Relevant Qualifications in Commercial Cookery
  • Experience working in high-end restaurant environments and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to take direction from senior staff and a passion for coaching junior Chefs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management, task prioritisation and resource scheduling
