About the role
In this rewarding role, you’ll partner with our Business Development Manager to bring comfort and support to pet owners during their toughest times. As part of our compassionate pet cremation service, you’ll play a vital role in honoring beloved pets by expertly cremating and transporting them, ensuring a seamless, door-to-door experience for our cherished RSPCA Pets at Rest clients. - Safely transport beloved deceased animals between customers’ homes, veterinary clinics, and the RSPCA site with utmost care and respect.
- Engage with pet owners compassionately, providing guidance and support throughout the cremation process.
- Skillfully operate cremation equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with the cremation of animals to ensure precise processing and packaging of remains.
- Maintain meticulous records, capturing owner information and cremation preferences.
- Uphold a clean, safe, and compliant cremation environment for the wellbeing of our team and families.
- Return cremated remains to the owner or veterinary hospital, offering additional support resources to grieving pet owners as needed.
About you
You’ll be a great communicator with top-notch interpersonal skills. If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications may also include:
- An open driver’s licence with an excellent driving record is essential.
- Physical capability to lift and move animals or heavy equipment, as this role involves physical labor.
- Experience with cremation equipment and familiarity with safety protocols, desirable.
- Ability to empathize with grieving pet owners and clearly explain our services.
- Strong record-keeping skills to process cremated remains accurately.
- Collaborates effectively with team members and adheres to organisational policies and procedures.
- Remains calm under pressure, finding solutions in stressful situations.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment, presenting a professional appearance.
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive, with a genuine interest in animal welfare.
- Knowledge of local animal cremation regulations and industry standards.
