Description

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Electronics Engineer with a practical mindset and a strong systems approach to help us bring advanced, field-deployable hardware to life. You’ll be working on the electrical integration of our engineered systems – designing, assembling, and debugging circuitry that supports real-time operation, monitoring, and control.

This is a hands-on role that goes beyond the schematic. You’ll be involved in prototyping, building test setups, verifying electrical behaviour, and collaborating with design and process engineers to ensure that everything connects, works, and scales.

If you enjoy making systems work – not just in theory, but on the bench – this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Support the electrical integration of engineered systems, from basic wiring and layout to board-level validation.
  • Design and modify circuit diagrams, select components, and assist in layout definition.
  • Build and maintain test setups, troubleshoot issues, and assist in validating electrical behaviour under realistic conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, design, and test engineers to ensure alignment between system requirements and electrical implementation.
  • Document electrical designs, configurations, and test outcomes to support traceability and scaling.
  • Follow safe work practices and contribute to maintaining a well-managed workspace aligned with WHS guidelines.

Required skills/qualifications

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • A track record of designing and testing circuits or embedded systems in a prototyping or product development context.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting circuit diagrams and integrating components into broader systems.
  • Solid understanding of basic electrical principles, safety considerations, and test instrumentation.
  • A practical, solution-oriented mindset with strong documentation habits.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, organised, and compliant working environment in line with WHS expectations.

Preferred skills/experience (not essential)

  • Experience building or debugging low-power control systems or sensor interfaces.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC considerations, connector design, or enclosure layout.
  • Exposure to lab instrumentation and test tools (e.g., scopes, meters, power supplies).
  • Comfort working alongside mechanical or process engineers in early-stage product environments.
